"But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy."
James 3:17
Gentleness is a wise attitude to carry, is it not? This passage tells us that the wisdom from above (from God) is a gentle wisdom. To be gentle enough to avoid drama and see the best in any situation is an awesome gift, indeed.
But do you show that wisdom? Do I? Often we are all given the opportunity in various situations to ignore gentle wisdom and engage in gossip. I know I fall to this far too often. But what if we all decided for one day that we would not give in? What if we decided to let our gentleness shine as wisdom in speech, and we spoke kindly with peace and mercy to everyone in all situations? That day would be amazing!
Take a moment today to reflect on the possibility of mirroring God's wisdom by being as gentle as He can be. Find a moment today that normally would allow you to be fleshly, and choose gentleness instead, and honor the Lord in doing so!
