How often has it happened that someone has walked into the wrong part of a conversation and jumped right onboard the gossip train? It happens frequently for me, and that is one area in which I still struggle. But the most important thing to see here is that it does not tell us we are above the influence, but that we should not give in to the influence of gossip (which is alluring, as we all know).
Take time today to think about the words you use and the ones you choose. It makes far more sense to "just say no," as it were, than to partake in any talk tat could harm someone else. Because, if I remember correctly, when you point one finger there's at least four more pointing back, right?
Speak words of encouragement to one another, always, and honor the Lord through your open and obvious love and care for how powerful your words are.
