Purpose...

For my determined purpose is that I may know Him - that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly. And that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection which it exerts over believers; and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed in spirit into His likeness even to His death, in the hope...
Philippians 3:10 (AMP)

This has been on my mind for some time. This particular verse is one that has appeared in so many different places. So many different teachings and courses have cited this verse, and I am endeavoring to memorize it fully. But I am also contemplating a deeper meaning of it, as well... for marriage.

It is true that the only person you can change in yourself, and that in order to bring about change in any circumstance, you must lead by example. A servant-minded form of leadership is the only way to accomplish true, lasting change. And I believe that this is true of marriages, as well.

Imagine for one second if you lived this verse to the fullest, hoping to be blessed through the sufferings that we all go through. Imagine if we truly desired to serve our spouse, regardless of their level of appreciation. Imagine if we learned more about how to be like Christ, so that we could properly love and honor our spouse. What a relationship!!!

Take a moment tonight to read through your version of this verse, and compare it to the AMP version above. Look through it with your spouse, and pray together for the deeper understanding that we all need to strive for; the understanding of how to truly become a servant-leader, especially in our homes!

God bless you all!!!
