"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist..."
Ephesians 6:14a
We will move into the next piece of armor tomorrow, but I have to end by pointing out to you that this was not a suggestion offered lightly by Paul. This was not something that was thrown out as a possibility for a means to success. This was not a random idea that suddenly popped up and was a decent approach.
Paul says to do it. DO IT! It is not optional, as it is spoken here. It is not up for our own interpretation. It says to have it buckled at your waist, and it says nothing further about it. It says to stand firm, not to try and stand firm. It is a truly pointed directive. And it comes from the greatest conversion in the Bible... Paul.
Take time today to look into this portion of this verse in your translation, and focus on how serious a matter it is to begin with a belt firmly buckled at your waist. Make certain that there is no doubt about the placement of it, or the security of it, and understand that it is not up to us to decide whether or not to put it on. Go forth and encourage others with your boldness to follow you in this practice, and honor the Lord in doing so!
God bless you all!!!
