Cleansing Together

"Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners,
and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Jam 4:8

As a couple, your quest in marriage (in an earthly sense) is to draw nearer and nearer to each other over time. The closer you get to each other, the better your relationship is.

This is also true of your relationship with the Lord, both as individuals and as a couple. Every day you are required to wash your hands clean and purify your hearts and thoughts. We are created flawed... it is inescapable. But the closer you grow to God through chasing sanctification, the smaller that flaw will seem.

Spend time today praying together, and then perform an exercise for each other; wash each others' hands. Pray over the sink and each other, and then wash the hands of your spouse, in a symbolic gesture of aiding them in removing the stains of sin. We are a team. We need to support each other in all things... especially cleansing!
