"How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!"
Proverbs 16:16

The riches of this world mean nothing. What we must have is the wisdom to live in the world, but not of it, just like we are commanded. This is also true of our marriages, in that we must focus on wise, understanding communion with one another, rather than live in our marriage the way the world says we should. Focus on this today, and honor the Lord through it.

"The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor."
Proverbs 15:33

We should all endeavor to be known and seen as honorable. It should be the legacy we leave for our children. But remember that the fear of the Lord must be ever-present, because our children see us more than the rest of the world. Humble yourself, hold onto your reverent fear, and honor God through this!

Conflict

Today, our Pastor continued the marriage series by diving into the topic of conflict. He listed several great points which are the cause, and several practical remedies and fixes. Please know, though, that these principles are for use in every marriage... not just the hurting ones!

But I would like to take a moment and echo only one; the need for prayer. Every husband should be praying for his wife already, and vice versa. This should be an ongoing practice, and it will strengthen each spouse's relationship with the Lord, which will strengthen their relationship together. As our Pastor said, with God in the center, anything is possible!

Take a moment tonight and pray over your spouse. They don't necessarily need to know you're doing it... He knows you are!
